Saving for a summer vacation is hard enough. Want to spend more of that hard-earned money on the vacation and less on the gas? Here are just a few tips to help your car get the optimum fuel efficiency:

Driving 55 mph is the best speed for fuel efficiency. Your fuel efficiency drops 10%  for every 5 mph over 55.

If possible, choose the cooler morning or evening hours to fill your car. Gasoline tends to evaporate during the hotter times of the day.

Want to improve your car’s fuel efficiency by 15%?  Before leaving on that trip, check the car’s maintenance schedule to see if it’s time to change the oil and air filter. Be sure to keep the tires properly inflated throughout the trip.
