An addition of a ribbon to a gift always contributes to the overall appeal of the presentation. And of course, a quick trip to the craft or fabric store will reveal an unending supply of colorful ribbons. But in today’s economy, such supplies are more than likely not at the top of the shopping list.

So, adapting my enthusiasm of “no waste” to fabric, the idea of converting scraps into ribbons was the most obvious choice . Conceding that this was nothing new, I realized that this was probably second nature to previous generations who learned to utilize whatever was available.  Stockpiles of fabric scraps destined for the landfill can now be utilized once again.
